In spite of being so there are many relationships between science and religion. There are many systems and customs that bear scientific base. Religion was originated to control the evil nature of man. It bears some psychological importance. In the food habit, dress codes there are many logical explanations that are based on science.
The main difference between religion and science is the role of faith. There are many prejudices and customs that make people religiously conservative and people become detached from the sense of science. There are numerous people who blindly follow the religious systems and customs without obeying scientific rules. To science these matters are useless and harmful to the people. Numerous people believe that they live for God and their life is not possible without God's help. Such beliefs are absolutely absurd.
Religions is an ethnic culture and it is absolutely based on faith. But along with faith there are many positive aspects that help a man to be religious. Science is not all and it can never develop all the humanity. It is related to our mind and we need to have mental force to be successful in life. In our trouble we need to have mental force to be free from troubles. Religion helps us to have mental force. It is also related to psychology. Now, Bible therapy is a separate subject of psychotherapy and it is highly useful today for cognitive development. So, religious faith is not a baseless faith.
Science offers us machine that helps to do a work in smooth and easy way. It is related to the physical needs. In case of psychological development science is not so fruitful. It is not based on faith. A faith may lead a scientist to discover something. But it needs scientific explanation.
