Company A and Company B have different compensation strategies, despite being in the same industry of providing litigation support services to US Law firms.

Comparative overview of their compensation strategies:

Company A: Hourly paid compensation system.

Company B: Salary based compensation system.

Company A and Company B both provide various kinds of litigation support services to the law firms in the USA, which includes Document Review, Drafting court documents, Reviewing legal documents etc. These kinds of works can be done by the legal professional hired by both companies.

Compensation Strategies:

Company A calculates compensation based on hours every employee works. And pays it at the end of the month.

Company B has a fixed monthly salary of its employees and pays them every month.

Aligning employee benefits and rewards to their business strategy:

Company A: Hourly Bonus System

Company A has a bonus system which includes the overtime done by its employees. They have kept 20% extra pay over the regular hourly rate for every extra hour they work to achieve the targets based on project deliverables.

Company B: Yearly Bonus System

Company B has kept bonuses depending on happy the client is by a particular employee. If the client is happy with the employee’s performance the employee will get a 50% yearly bonus over their salary package of that year.

The initiatives are taken by Company A, towards managing and emphasizing ethical behavior at the workplace are as follows:

a.    By clearly defining the vision statement of the company to encourage employees to follow them. For example:

i.              Respect for other employees.

ii.             Integrity

iii.            Honesty

iv.           Client centricity.

b.     By checking from the top till ground level and bringing effective change management if the employees are following the vision statement of the company or not.
