Answer #1

A proton signal in an NMR split when there chemically non-equvalent proton present in the adjucent or the same carbon.

If the no of hydrogen is n , then the spliting pattern will be (n+1)

A. For the cyclopentane ring all protons are chemically equvalent. So, it will be singlet.

B.There are four proton preesnt to the adjucent carbon (one CH3 and one CH). So, the spliting will be-pentate.

C.There are four proton preesnt to the adjucent carbon (two CH2). So, the spliting will be-pentate

D.There are two proton preesnt to the adjucent carbon (one CH2 ). So, the spliting will be-triplet

E.There is no proton preesnt to the adjucent carbon . So, the spliting will be singlet
