The keratin is held into its position by hydrogen bonds. Heat from the hot curlers provide sufficient energy to break these hydrogen bonds and bend straight hair into curls. More the no of disulfide bonds, more will be culrl hair. To bend hair from straight to curly we need to break hydrogen bonds.

So the answer is hydrogen bond
