Question

Find the periods of two physical pendulums consisting of identical thin rigid rods of length L = 138 cm. The first rod is pivoted about it's upper end, while the second rod is pivoted at a small hole drilled through the rod at a distance d = 103 cm from it's lower end, see the picture below. Note that the mass of the rod is not important — it cancels out. If it helps, take m = 1 kg.

g Ί p - - - - - m - m (1) (2)

The period of the first pendulum, T1 =  Unit in s

The period of the second pendulum, T2 =  Unit in s

find the error in the calculation FE4 Two identical uniform thin rigid rods are held together at one end with an electromagnet. One of the rods is attached to a fixed pivot point, around which the magnetic two rods are rotating at a constant rate (there is no gravity present here). Suddenly the connector electromagnet is tumed off, and the rod not attached to the pivot flies away. Find the percentage change in kinetic energy of the system before and...

PROBLEM 2.In the sketch a three part physical pendulum is shown, consisting of two massless rods (L=1 m) which make a 90 angle with respect to each other and are constrained to pivot at about an axis that is perpendicular to the paper and at the corner of where they meet. Two unequal point masses aresolidly attached, one at each end. The rod oscillates (when disturbed from equilibrium) due to the downward force of gravity. (ignore friction and air resistance)....
