Then Z critical value for right tailed test is

= Z_{\alpha = Z_{0.05} = 1.6449 ( from z table )

Z = 1.64

2. Here, \alpha = 0.05 , N= 18

Then df for t distribution = N-1 = 17

Critical Value for 2 Tailed test is

= \pm t_{\alpha/2,df} = \pm t_{0.025,17} = \pm 2.11 (from t table )

b) \pm 2.11 .

3. Test Statistic T = \frac{\sqrt{n}(X_{bar}-\mu)}{s}

  T = \frac{\sqrt{12}(24.2-23)}{2.2}

=1.890
