Consider a predatory fish that lives in shallow water. It has a swim bladder and gills, fins, and has external fertilization in the water. What changes must it evolve to live successfully on land instead of in the water? (4 points…hint: list at least four changes)
This is all that I have but we have been studying about adaptation, mutation and evolution.
Changes the fish must evolve to live successfully on land-
1) It must be able to breathe on land, hence the gills must adapt or mutate into a form that can breathe over land. Gills extract oxygen from the water, to adapt to land, they must evolve to extract oxygen from air.
2) Swim bladder is used by fishes to stay buoyant in water. The swim bladder would hamper its movement on land and would not serve any purpose. Thus, the swim bladder must go.
3) Fins- the fins are essential for movement in water but they must evolve into limbs which can move on land and are able to have a grip on the surface.
4) The fish currently has a mode of fertilization which is dependent on the water and is external. The fertilization has to stop being dependent on water and thus must evolve into a mode which would be possible on land.

Can I get a summary of this article name "Evolution Is Happening Faster Than We Thought" By MENNO SCHILTHUIZEN? — A FRIEND recently invited me over to see the blackbird that had taken up residence in a potted plant on her balcony. Serenely incubating eggs in the inner city, this bird had little in common with its shy, reclusive ancestors that nested in Europe’s forests. Early in the 19th century, probably in Germany, blackbirds began settling in cities. By the...
