Answer #1

Ans:

Sodium retention by the kidneys

Explanation: Aldosterone is the major mineralocorticoid steroid hormone secreted by the zona glomerulosa of adrenal cortex. Its secretion into blood is stimulated by angiotensin II when potassium levels of blood is high. It acts primarily on kidney to retention of water and sodium and excretion of potassium. Increased sodium and water levels thus increase blood volume as well as blood pressure. It promotes sodium absorption by kidneys, not by the intestinal villi.
