So the volume of the trapezoidal prism can be written as: Area of trapezium×height of the prism.

Now area of trapezium is h(a+b)/2

[Where h= height of the trapezium; a,b are the bases of the trapezium.]

If H is the height of prism

Then volume of prism will be V=hH(a+b)/2

Here h=4 in. , H=6 in. , a= 7 in. , b=16 in. are given.

So the volume is V= 4×6×(7+16)/2  in.3

=276 in.3
