Retroactive interference
(You come home to visit your parents and borrow the car you drove as a teenager. You haven't used this car in several years, and to your surprise, you keep turning on the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal because of their placement in your new car. This is an example of retroactive interference as the newer memory is interfering with the older memory.)
