“THE ALCHEMIST”
About the author-
Paulo Coelho, born in brazil, in 1947, is the author of this book titled as “The Alchemist”. The book however, didn’t attracted the readers much at the start, but when a phrase was added it did attracted a lot of readers. The phrase used in the book, which can somehow be considered to be the centre point of focus of the book literally meant that “if a person wants something, all the universe comes together and helps to achieve that something”.
And this book become one of the best sellers in the history, winning the Guinness World Record, for being the most translated book by a living author.
The book was written in such a theme that it could co-related with almost anyone’s life. The book was overflowing with great motivation poster like quotes.
Story line-
The story is based on a shepherd boy names Santiago, who lived in south of Spain. He had recurring encounters with a dream of finding a treasure. And on the hope that finding this treasure is his destiny he left his comfort, home in Spain and travelled into the African desert to find the treasure he has been dreaming of. This boy was courageous enough to leave everything and walk towards the direction of his desires.
But along the path of finding this treasure, Santiago went through a lot but never gave up and kept on reminding himself that “when a person wants something, all the universe comes together and helps in achieving it”. And this is what kept him going on and on.
Also, during his journey to find the hidden treasure, he met a lot of people who kept on telling him to follow his dreams, pointing at directions which would lead him to the treasure. His journey was full of adventures, lessons and meeting new people.
Conclusion-
Many of us fails to achieve our dreams, not because we can’t achieve, but simply because we night try to achieve them. The book is all about believing in your destiny and never giving up on it until you have achieved your dreams.
The book basically emphasizes on the values of Faith, spirituality, positive thinking, hope. The book teaches its readers about the power of positivity in a very subtle and effective way.
All in all, the book is a motivational book and anyone can relate it with his life and can learn a lot from the book. This book is a kind of book which leaves positive impression on people and their lives, also motivates them to follow their dreams and achieve what they once might have thought they can’t. This book brings positivity in the reader’s life and changes his outlook and strives him to do better in life.
This story is a special story. The story gives real life lesson. The lesson what the story gives us is that if we follow our dream, believe in the journey of fulfilling that dream and don’t give up on it, then we can achieve it and turn our ordinary lives into gold, basically turn it into what we have dreamt of our life to look like. The book at times talks in depth about God and heaven. The book is incredible, story being beautiful but the most important fact is that the author has shared numerous lessons that are relevant to almost quite a lot of people’s life.
The book has very well managed to give its readers the message the have faith in their destiny and only this faith will lead you to that destiny.
