Answer 1: Group think is a negative force .The three antecedent conditions or causes of group think are:-
Isolated Group
Isolated group are those groups which have no clear rules for decision making and in this group all the people involved have similar castes or backgrounds. This group is destructive to effective thinking. They don’t know any person personally who do not belong to their group. People of this group distrust or hate outsiders.
Decisional stress
Whenever a group is forced to make any important decision, the each individual within the group often consists a certain amount of insecurity. Members of a group will attempt to reduce this decisional stress through all possible means. This insecurity will be lessened if the decision is made quickly and with little disagreement. The positive consequences of the group’s decision will serve as the main focus, when there will be minimization of any negative outcomes. Focusing on all minor details of group decisions is a way in which the group can overlook larger issues that may need attention.
Rigid Leadership
Sometimes a dominate leadership (complete control over the group by the leader) may suppress the voice of group members .In this condition group members are not able to give their opinion.
