Is it true that most stage theories have a male bias? How differently do women experience middle age? When answering this post, consider products sold that are advertised differently between the sexes. For example, a few years ago, there was a product (just for men hair dye) that was meant to show that men who used it looked experienced and mature, however, the same product was not advertised for women. Additionally, when considering hormonal products, such as testosterone for men, there are differences on how they are promoted. For men, it is ok to take testosterone if prescribed by a doctor (e.g., Androgel being one of them), but what about women? Answer in 350-500 words.

Since the voices of feminism became loud, there have been people advocating for the bias in the various theories, stage theories such as Erickson's or piaget's that have an inclination towards one gender. Most of the observations that were made have been based on the males, more specifically white males. Even the ideas on midlife crisis and work life balance have been based on the males.

the kind of efforts that women put into a family, so that they could meet up to the demands of the family, fulfil all their needs and also excel at their work, is not the same for the males. The kind of emphasis and work that the males put in the family and work life is very much different from that of the females. It is the responsibility of the mother, in most cases, to carry out household chores, prepare for food for the children and other family members and also be present at work at the right time. when considering midlife crisis,  the perspective of women was not taken into consideration.

not only ingrained in theory, such gender bias could also be observed in the kind of products sold and the kind of advertisements designed for those products. In majority of the cases, there has been a gender bias in product advertising, example mr muscle. Though, it is mr, but the person doing the kitchen cleaning is a woman. This shows how gender bias is absorbed in our society at every level.
