the Correlation coefficient is denoted by r

the range of r is -1 to 1

when -1<r<0 ,then the Correlation is said to be negative correlation.

when r=0, then the Correlation is said to be no correlation.

and when 0<r<1 ,then the Correlation is said to be positive correlation.

as you said you got Correlation coefficient r= 0.89 which indicates the strong positive correlation between studying hours & test score
