How do you feel about this coffee brands now that you know something more about it?
The unethical practices of some of the known coffee brands, Starbucks and nestle have been a source of talk in the past few years. They state that the practices carried out by these brands are completely contrary to their image. They state that it has been observed that the milk served in the coffee is filled with gm growth hormone. Also, there have been cases where the livelihood of coffee growers in Ethiopia have been attempted to not be improved.
there have also been cases of low wage staffing and issues with pay rise. There was a long struggle for stopping Starbucks to use milk that was genetically engineered.
after getting to know the reality of such coffee brands, the most reputed ones, it feels like there should be an overall boycott of these brands. The consumer culture that they are subsumed in and the profit greed that they show, could only be countered by an overall boycott, not just in one country, but globally.
