Answer #1

Break-even (Cost-Volume-Profit) chart:
It is a graphical representation of the relationship between the sales, costs, and the related profit or loss at various levels of units sold.

Items (A to F)

A) Break-even point

B) Operating loss area

C) Total fixed costs

D) Cost line

E) Operating profit area

F) Profit line

Margin of safety

Part A = correct answer is there itself

Part B

Breakeven sales = Fixed cost/Contribution margin ratio

= 1,596,000/(100-70)% (If there is any change in variable cost %, change it properly and calculate accordingly)

= 5, 320, 000

(Sales - Breakeven sales) /Sales = 30%

(Sales - 5,320,000) = 0.30 * Sales

Sales = 7,600,000
