What is the probability that three out of the five cars will rise in price?

X ~ binomial (n,p)

Where n = 4 , p = 0.15

P(X) = nCx px (1-p)n-x

So

P(X = 2) = 4C2 0.152 0.852

= 0.0975

b)

X ~ binomial (n,p)

Where n = 5 , p = 0.60

P(X) = nCx px (1-p)n-x

So,

P( X = 3) = 5C3 0.63 0.42

= 0.3456
