Because If a job is not completed at year end, then there will be some Manufacturing overhead cost would be applied to that job when a Predetermined overhead rate is used. In other words, Predetermined overhead rate is calculated Prior to the year in which it is used in allocating Manufacturing Overhead Costs Applied to that Jobs.
