Answer #1

1. EPS = (Net Income - Preferred Dividends) / Outstanding shares

EPS for 2017 = (83,625 - 6,000) / 75,000 = 1.04

EPS for 2016 = (39,950 - 6,000) / 40,000 = 0.85

2. Current Ratio = Current Assets / Current Liabilities

Current Ratio for 2017 = 70,000 / 28,000 = 2.5 : 1

Current Ratio for 2016 = 46,200 / 33,000 = 1.4 : 1

3. Debt to Assets Ratio = Total Debts / Total Asssets

Assumption: Since there is no details mentioned about the Debt component in the total liabilities figure, I am considering the whole Liabilities to be Debt

Debt to Assets Ratio for 2017 = 98,000 / 280,000 = 0.35

Debt to Assets Ratio for 2016 = 96,750 / 215,000 = 0.45

4. Free Cash Flows = Cash from operating activities - Capital Expenditure

Note: Capital Expenditure given here is Expenditures on Property, Plant & Equipment

Free Cash Flows for 2017 = 90,000 - 29,000 = 61,000

Free Cash Flows for 2016 = 56,000 - 16,000 = 40,000
