While the primary goal of every business owner is to increase revenues, the goal of the company's accountant is to ensure that the revenues are recognized,or recorded on the company's books in the correct period. The timing of a company's recognition of revenue on its financial statement depends on wethwhe it used the accrual or cash basis of accountant to maintain its books.
