An organisation might form 5 different types of team. The details of these teams with their benefits are given below
Working team: it consists of the members of the department like sales team, marketing team, production team etc. This is the fundamental team of any business entity. Members of the team understands their roles and perform their part for the team. Members might have occassional meetings to review the team objectives. The members are given task to the area of their expertise.
Self directed team: Unlike the working team, member of this team meet over a common goal. This team does not have any leader. Members divide their responsibility among them maybe not equally sometimes. Self directed team work towards a common goal of interest of all the members.
Management team: it consists of the department leaders. Lower level employees may look for them in the event of the need of any information. They can rise to any occasion and provide their valuable feedback and insights to the business
Project team: It consists of the multiple departments leaders. It may also be called task force team or special purpose team. This teams are temporary in nature, after completion of the task the team is dissolved. Though can be called later again if the need arises.
Multifunctional team: this kind of team consists of members of diffrent department of the company. But unlike the project team the life of this team is a little bit longer. This team can handle the issues like sustainability, governmental issues or technology. Their involvement ate crucial for the organisation.
