(1) Darrel has worked hard and retired at age 55. He spends his time tending a garden, traveling, and meeting his buddies for coffee on Thursday mornings. He avoids contact with his children and grandchildren since they are bothersome to his relaxed lifestyle. When asked to participate in community projects he declines saying he doesn’t have the time for such things. He watches re-runs of his favorite shows and pays no attention to news programs. How would Erikson classify Darrel and what would he predict concerning late adulthood?

1. According to Erikson , it is completely based on generativity vs stagnation people to find s own . There is no dillusion. He is lost all bonding with his relationship rather spent more time in isolation. He only focused those things that gives him satisfaction and enjoyment . He try to completely withdraw himself from his role and responsibilities.  

He predict that people are completely disconnected from community life. They are uninvolved in their society life. If people are not connected himself with community life then they thinks that they are not much productive.  

2. Social clock means to explore time table by culture and social aspects that a person should marriage at fixed duration of time , Should have baby in this stage of life. Graduation etc.  

Yes there is intergenerational agreement where younger people support older people .

3. When people are not follow social clock and doesn't engaged in marital relationship then they become so isolated and feeling loneliness. Only because of loneliness , they try to find out good marital relationship .
