In the steady state output always grow at the rate of increase in the effective labour and there is no growth in the output per effective worker in the steady state. This indicates that the growth rate of output is 3% + 1% + 2% or 6%. We therefore conclude that aggregate consumption in the economy should be growing at 6% at the steady state.
