Medium and message effectiveness Send the same message to four different friends, but use a different medium for each person. For example, ask the question “How are you doing?” You may select four of the many ways in which we can communicate (paper, email, instant message, text message, telephone, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Record how each response differs (in selected medium, in response time, length, complexity of response) and what that might say about the nature of each medium. Which response medium was the most/least satisfying and why?

Four selected ways of communication are, SMS, emails, telephone and social media sites. In the case of SMS, the response is usually short in length, as it is meant for short messages. You usually get the response as soon as the message is seen and they reply. Usually SMS are paid services. It's doesn't have a complexity in composing and sending, it's quite simple.

Now emails, the length of reply depends on the sender, both small and long messages can be sent through emails, even attached photos and videos can also be sent through emails. The response time for email depends on the recievers access to the internet, as it works through internet system. You don't have to pay for every emails individually but at one cost of internet as many emails can be sent as you like, unlike the SMS system. It can be a little complex in composing and sending messages for new users.

In the case of telephone, these are wire connected phones, so the response is got if the receiver is near the telephone. Instant talking can be done through telephone as there is no waithing for the message to be delivered. The message can be as long as people talking over want. Complexity is non, it's quite easy. The payment method is similar to the SMS, you are charged per call, according to the time length of the call.

In the case of social media sites, again it works through internet, so the response time depends on the availability of the internet connection. Once the internet connection is available,the response time write fast. The length can be longer than text messages but shorter than emails or telephone too one can share messages through photos and videos. Complexity is non as such it works similar to the text messages. But in the case of payment, it works like emails.
