Volume of chlorine = 325 ml = 0.325 L

T = 25 + 273.15 = 298.15 K

P = 715 torr = 715 ÷ 760 = 0.94 atm

PV = nRT

n = \frac{PV}{RT}

= \frac{0.94 * 0.325}{0.0821 * 298.15}

no of moles of Cl2 = 0.0125 mol

From reaction,

1 mol of MnO2 produces 1 mol Cl2

Moles of MnO2, which produces 0.0125 mol Cl2 = 0.0125 mol

Molar mass of MnO2 = 55+32= 87

Therefore, mass of MnO2 = 0.0125 × 87

= 1.087 g
