G) The polar nature of water molecule is such that substance with ionic bond like of Magnesium chloride can be easily dissolved in water. The slightly positive charge of hydrogen ion of water attract the negatively charged chlorine ion, while the slightly negative charged oxygen ion attracts the positive charged magnesium ion.

So, if there are a good number of water molecule surrounding the magnesium chloride, the ionic bond will break and the Mg2+ and Cl- will exist as free ion in solution.

(H) It is simply a homogeneous mixture, because the salts and water can be seperated using the process of distillation.

(17) (A) The oxygen molecules are joined together by covalent bond.

(B)In ionic bonding two opposite charged ions attract each other in order to form ionic bond, while in covalent bonding, sharing of electrons between two non metallic atoms is done.
