Answer #1
  1. 25 years ago, in an April a deadly genocide took place in Rwanda, which killed about 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus.
  2. The genocide came to an end only when the Rwandan Patriotic Front, led by Paul Kagame and supported by Uganda marched into Rwanda and defeated genocidal government forces and drove away from the remaining loyalists.
  3. Yes, the economy is growing at a rapid rate even though the political condition is still nasty in the country.
  4. There is no evidence of a democratic government there as of now because President Kagame is serving his third term there now and opposition politicians are at the risk of getting arrested if they criticize the government and some of the critics have also been mysteriously killed.
  5. Yes, there are other situations similar to Rwanda. The most recent horrific genocide which is happening is in Syria and the worlds super powers or any of the international organizations didn’t take any actions against this.
  6. Yes, the Tutsi is still at risk because they are estimated to be only 10-15% of the total Rwandan population and out of this a major portion of the population is raised into military forces for serving the nation and they are being accused of war crimes. A recent example for accusation against them is for participation in Congo’s civil war.
  7. No there is no good reason to trust the international community because he feels they will not be present when they are in need of their help. The best example to not trust the international community is of the case of Syria.
  8. Maintain political control, sustain rapid economic growth, support a strong military capable of acting beyond Rwandan frontiers.
