A center-tapped 120/240-volt secondary coil has the two parts of the coil inside the tank arranged in parallel. What would be the voltage between X1 and the X3 terminals?

Diagram for center tapped transformer having two parts of secondary coil connected in parallel is shown below :

I 2 240V Lielie levered i 240 V 240V

Voltage between X1 and X3 terminals is 0 because both terminals are at same potential having positive polarity.

Now voltage between X1 and X2 terminals = 240 V (Current =I)

Voltage between X3 and X4 terminals = 240 V (Current =I)

Voltage between X1 and X4 terminals = 240 V (Current =2*I)

It can be concluded that parallel connection of two coils will give same voltage at output terminals but current rating will increase due parallel connection of coils which is shown in figure.
