1. To evaluate the effectiveness of a Dynamic Speed Display Signs (DSDS) [DSDS is an altemative speed management method in transition zones of Two-Lane, Rural Highways, speed data were collected using Nu-Metrics Hi Star Sensor. The sensor is placed in the center of the travel lane, and changes in the magnetics field are captured by the sensor when a vehicle passes over it. The first location (Sensor 1 Speed Limit 55mph) was in the high speed area before the beginning of the transition zone. The second location (Sensor 2- Speed Limit 40 mph) was adjacent to the DSDS implementation point. The Box Plot below presents just a sample of the speed reduction of one of several evaluated sites. Answer the following items a) Provide a label for the descriptive statistic being described in the plot. Boxplot of Speed Reduction BeforeDS, Speed Reduction DuringDs Speed,Reduct njeforeDSDSimph)コ Speed,Reducto, pure sosos b0 40 25 1s 0 15 10 b) What inferences you can make about the effectiveness of speed reduction using a Dynamic Speed Display Signs in highways?
