Suicide is a serious disorder and a global public health issue. It has became necessary to study research and intervention in relation to Suicidology. The main and prime area of investigation is serotonin hydroxytryptamine also known as (5HT). The neurons and platelets in human body shows both structural and functional similarities.

95 % of 5HT is contained in platelets, which shares same 5HT intake and release mechanisms with 5HT neurons. This study objective is to display human self-destructive behavior (HSDB) and Analysis the biological (serotonin levels in platelets) and psychological aspects (impulsivity) of attempted suicide or HSDB.
31 % who are the age of 18 years or above, with a history of human self destructive behavior were studied and given an International Classification of Diseases-10 diagnosis, after a long investigation.
