Question

cm X2 = 60 L = Length of the glider = 10 cm Position of Glider Position of gate 1 Time |X2-X1 D (cm) Final Velocity Vi=L/t (F

this is all frictionless

(a) Plot v(f)^2 versus D on graph paper.

(b) What is graph slope? What about units? what does it represent?
Since the glider starts from rest, the initial velocity vi is equal to zero. Thus vf2 = (2a)D.
I think it is 2a...only one I have a guess on

(c) Glider acceleration is equal to ? Use slope calcualted above

(d) compare above answer to below answer calculate the percent error.

theoretical = 95.6cm/s^2

(e) Why is it important to measure it with the photo gate instead of a meterstick or something else? Would the length of the object change if the photo gate was bent some other way

(f) Why can't u use actual data points vs choosing arbitrary points?

(g) Does glider have constant acceleration
