1. Biotechnology is the process where living organisms are used to test or develop any new products or test anything.

2. Applications of DNA technology:

• Pest resistant plants
• Genetically modified organisms
• Recombinant vaccines

3. Restriction enzymes are those enzymes which cut DNA at a specific position. These sites are called restriction sites.

4. The PCR process is:

Denaturing of double stranded DNA at 95 degrees.

The primers attach to regions on either side of the target sequence. This happens at 60 degrees.

The Taq DNA polymerase uses primers as a base and synthesizes new DNA strands. This happens at 72 degrees.

The cycle is repeated. The process is repeated till magnification of the target sequence occurs.

5. The dad 2 is the real dad. This can be confirmed as the samples of baby matches with dad for the 2,4,5,7 bands. The other bands match with the mother.

6. The suspect 2 is the felon. Almost all the bands match with the sample of the felon.
