Answer #1

Except for Ag+, Pb+2 and (Hg2)2+ all chloride salt are soluble, i.e the salt will remain in ionic form. Chloride ions get canceled out in each reaction being present on both sides. In all the reactions hydrogen ion is reduced to elementary Hydrogen and the metals are oxidised to their common oxidation states

1.

Molecular equation : Al (s) +3HCl (aq)\rightarrow AlCl3(aq) + 3/2 H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Al 0 + 3H+(aq) + 3Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Al3+(aq) + 3Cl-(aq) +3/2 H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Al0 (s) + 3H+(aq) \rightarrow Al3+(aq) + 3/2 H20 (g)

2. Molecular equation : Cu (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow CuCl2(aq) +   H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Cu 0 + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Cu2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation :Cu0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Cu2+(aq) + 3/2 H20 (g)

3. Molecular equation : Fe (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow FeCl2(aq) + H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Fe0(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Fe2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Fe 0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Fe2+(aq) + H20 (g)

4. Molecular equation : Mg (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow MgCl2(aq) + H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Mg0(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Mg2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Mg0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Mg2+(aq) + H20 (g)

5. Molecular equation : Zn (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow ZnCl2(aq) + H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Zn0(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Zn2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Zn0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Zn2+(aq) + H20 (g)

6. Molecular equation : Sn (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow SnCl2(aq) + H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Sn0(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Sn2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Sn0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Sn2+(aq) + H20 (g)

7. Molecular equation : Ca (s) +2HCl (aq)\rightarrow CaCl2(aq) + H2 (g)

Ionic equation : Ca0(s) + 2H+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) \rightarrow Ca2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) + H20 (g)

Net ionic equation : Ca0 (s) + 2H+(aq) \rightarrow Ca2+(aq) + H20 (g)
