Indole, Methyl Red, Voges–Proskauer and Citrate test (IMViC) tests are performed to confirm the fecal infection of coliform bacteria which are found in soil water and in the feces of warm and cold blooded animals. These bacteria are "Escherichia-Aerobacter intermediates".
