Elder Care

For this project I want you to design a nursing center that will be able to address the needs of the senior population.Be creative in naming your facility and addressing the cognitive and social issues that can help the senior population live their respective lives to the fullest.Be sure to address

1.Social support(family and staff interaction)(

2.Social Activities that encourage interaction and not despair

3.Cognitive activities that encourage continued use of the brain.

4.Able to deal effectively with Younger Older adults as well as the OLDER OLDER adults (

5.Mobility and assistance with daily living or IDL activtites

6.Include a link of a current nursing facility with a quick comment on two on what you liked and disliked about the facility.Mention how your facility would be a little better than this facility.

First Of all Setting Up Of Nursing Home means we would have to look up at many things .According to mainly the location of the Nursing Home .As we are opening it for older people so we should try to find a location is which is less polluted .There should be many facts which should be kept in mind.

1.Social Support Should be for the designing of Nursing Center.

2.Social activities that encourage interaction not despair ,It means that we should keep in mind that the health of environment they will have around themselves the much faster their recovery would be because sometime we need love and care along with the medications.Social Activities should be performed time to time they will feel very happy and special.

3.With the passage of time the thinking and memorizing capacity of people get diminished.So the cognitive activities should be performed time to time that will encourage continued use of the brain.And they will think that hoemw to do something further their memory will increase so the Care taker I.e. Nurse could work easily for their health and betterment.

4.The Nursing staff should know how to deal with the Older people .i.e. younger older adults as well as older older adults .

5.Older people generally are more prone to unhygienic things because they are just similar to a child of 6-8months who don't much about what he is doing and what will be it's consequences.So we should look up at the toilet,hygiene ,cooking,feeding,eating etc..

6.I recently visited a Nursing Home In which the beds were of wood but Bed of Iron will be much beneficial because we could easily wash them anytime without any serious harm to the material because hygiene is the main requirement of a better Nursing facility and the second is I would keep much ladies staff than gents staff because lady staff are more caring w.r t.gents staff.
