  • When we mix up BaCl2 and Na2SO4 we get white precipitate of BaSO4 ,and it does not dissolve in HCl.
  • The test tube become white due to precipitation of barium sulphates.
  • In this reaction NaCl and BaSO4 are formed ,NaCl remains dissolved in the aqueous solution, where as Barium sulphate being insoluble in water forms precipitate.
  • Chemical formula of the insoluble product is BaSO4
  • 2) BaCl2 + Na2SO4  -> BaSO4 + 2NaCl
  • Reaction type :- It is a double displacement reaction .Sulphate ions are displaced by chloride ions and vice versa.
