When unionised members are absent, there is high degree of wage reduction as employees lose bargaining power.

Since wages are low the quantity of labor demand rises and supply decreases in market causing unemployment to be lower than before as firms tend to hire more on lower wages and hence natural rate of unemployment decreases.
