The Bayer process, which is over 120 years old, is the only process used for the commercial production of alumina today and remarkably the main sub-processes that underpin the Bayer process are essentially the same as those used over 120 years ago. The lack of development of a new commercial process for the production of alumina is due to a variety of reasons. In summary however it is essentially due to the fact that no alternative process that has been developed has been more economical then the Bayer process. Discuss an alternative process for producing alumina from bauxite (your alternative process may include a maximum of two of the major sub-processes used in the Bayer process (i.e. digestion in alkali, clarification (settling / filtration), seeded precipitation, calcination)). Include a brief comparison of cost between your alternative process with similar stages used in the Bayer process. Include a discussion of any potential environmental challenges that may be encountered using your alternative process.
NOTE: The chemistry that you propose in your alternative process must be reasonable.

Zara Organizational Structure Structure relates to a skeletal framework of activities and processes in an organisation and specifies the roles of these in achieving goals and objectives of the organisation. According to (Mullins, 2009), a good structure is highly important due to the fact that decisions on structure are primary strategic decisions which can make or break an organisation. One important aspect of a good structure is the human element. Organisation structure should be designed so as to encourage employees...
10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
How can we assess whether a project is a success or a failure? This case presents two phases of a large business transformation project involving the implementation of an ERP system with the aim of creating an integrated company. The case illustrates some of the challenges associated with integration. It also presents the obstacles facing companies that undertake projects involving large information technology projects. Bombardier and Its Environment Joseph-Armand Bombardier was 15 years old when he built his first snowmobile...
