Question

A piece of thin spherical shell that has a radius of curvature of 94 cm is silvered on both sides. The concave side of the piece forms a real image 70.5 cm from the mirror. The piece is then turned around so that its convex side faces the object. The piece is moved so that the image is now 35 cm firom the piece on the concave side (a) How far was the mirror moved? 67.04 X cm b) Was it moved toward or away from the object? toward the object
Could i get the correct answer? 166.8 cm is not correct.

Answer #1

1/p + 1/q = 1/f
f = r/2 = 47 cm
1/p + 1/70.5 = 1/47
p = 141 cm

1/p + 1/-35 = 1/-47
p = 137 cm

So mirror p has been moved 4 cm.

Please rate if it is correct.
