What is the texture and Mineralogy?
Dear Student,
Gneiss is a very common and widely distributed metamorphic rock. Formations composed of igneous or sedimentary rocks undergo metamophism by high temperature and pressure to form gneiss.
Gneiss mostly show a banded texture characterised by alternating dark and light bands. The lighter band is composed of quartz and feldspar while the darker band contains biotite, hornblende, garnet or graphite.
It is medium to coarse grained.
Thank you!
Please leave a thumbs up.

In pea plants the pod texture is hereditary. John crossed a pea plant that produces wrinkle pod, with another pea plant that makes smooth pod, He found that all 1000 F1 pea plants produce smooth pod. What do you know about the traits of the pod texture gene?

Observed F2 generation: Count the seed color and texture phenotypes for 100 seeds. How many of the observed offspring are purple, round? What percentage ? How many of the observed offspring are purple, wrinkled? What percentage ? How many of the observed offspring are yellow, round? What percentage ? How many of the observed offspring are yellow, wrinkled? What percentage ? Are these observed percentages similar to the expected percentages?
