Light is refracted as it travels from a point A in medium 1 to a point B in medium 2.

If the index of refraction is 1.33 in medium 1 and 1.51 in medium 2, how long does it take light to go from A to B, assuming it travels 321cm in medium 1 and 131cm in medium 2?

t total = __________ ns

Answer needs to be in nano seconds and I know that 1.51 ms as well as converting it to 15100000 ns is an incorrect answer.

Answer #1

Velocity of light in medium 1 v1-c/n 2.99*108 1.33 -2.25 108 m/s time taken in medium! to travel t1 d1/v1 = 321 * 10-2 / 2.25
