Answer #1

Answer: 5.0*10^6 kj

   2 CaO(s) + 2 SO2(g) + O2(g) ----> 2 CaSO4(s)

DH0rxn = (2*DH0f,CaSO4) - (2*DH0f,caO + 2* DH0f,SO2+1*DH0f,O2)

         = (2*-1434.1)-(2*-635.1+2*-296.8+1*0)

         = -1004.4 Kj

from the above per 2 mole SO2, DH = -1004.4 kj

no of moles of SO2 removed everyday = w/Mwt = (6.30*10^5)/64 = 9843.8 mole

DH = 1004.4*9843.8/2 = 4.9*10^6 Kj
