Answer #1
  1. DNA fingerprinting also called DNA typing is a technique used to identify individuals based on the base-pair pattern in their DNA. It is a profile of small DNA variations which is unique for every individual. In the agarose gel picture shown, DNA pattern of suspect # 3 matches exactly with the DNA of the blood stain found at the crime scene.
  2. Despite all the evidence against the suspect, the jury found him innocent. It is known that DNA fingerprint can be exactly same between child and the parents or, between the identical twins. In the present case, parent-child possibility is nil so it is possible that the victim and suspect could be identical twins. Hence, it could not be determined whether the blood stain at the crime scene belonged to the victim or the suspect so the jury found him innocent.
