Alternative splicing: It is a process where, certain exons, are included or excluded from the final mature mRNA. The kind of alternative splicing happened between the two isoforms - Mutually Exclusive Exons.
Mutually exclusive exons are characterized by the splicing of exons, in a coordinated manner such that two or more splicing events are not independent. As the name suggests one or two exons are retained whereas the other exons are spliced out.
