Answer #1

E°cell = E°cathode - E°anode

E°cell = -0.7618 V - ( -1.662) V

E°cell = 0.9002 V

Q3)

The relationship between E°cell and Gibbs free energy (∆G°) is as follows:

∆G° = -nFE°cell

Here n is number of electrons

Here n = 6 mol e-

F is Faraday constant ( 96485.3 C/mol)

E°cell = 0.9002 J/C ( V = J/C)

∆G° = - 6 mol e- × ( 96485.3 C/mol) × 0.9002 J/C

∆G° = -521136 J × ( 1 kJ/ 1000 J)

∆G° = - 521.1 kJ
