Losec and lasix is the example of" look alike " medication error .where lasix used to treat fluid buildup due to heart failure ,liver sac ring and kidney disease. Where losec is used to treat GERD ,peptic ulcer etc .

Precautions during holding look alike medicine :-

- first of all we have to avoid purchase of looke alike and sound alike medicine.

- storage of these types of medicine should be well identified or in a good manner.

- whenever reading the doctor prescription during drug administration check well about medicine that is provided.

- check the appropriate amount and dosage of medication provided.

- double checking should be done during dispensing and supply process of look alike medicine.

- read medicine label carefully while administering drug and perform triangle check.

- whenever medicine comes into hospital and clinic all staff should be informed in this category medicine.

- in changing appearance of medicine inform the patient that tell about that .
