Attached find the graph of the data:

250 200 150 100 50 2345 67 8 501 100 150 200 250 -POPULATION SIZE- N/K

21. At population size of 25, the population is growing the fastest. At htis point dN/dT= rN (K-N/K), using values , dN/dT= 1 X 25(100-25/100)= 25 X 0.75= 18.75

a. At population size of 99, it is growing the slowest with dN/dT of 0.99, putting the values of dN/dT= rN (K-N/K), using values , dN/dT= 1 X99(100-99/100)= 99 X (1/100)= 0.99

b. When the number of births equals the number of deaths, the population is at its carrying capacity for that habitat. If resources are being used faster than they are being replenished, then the species has exceeded its carrying capacity. If this occurs, the population will then decrease in size.In population dynamics and population ecology, overshoot occurs when a population temporarily exceeds the long term carrying capacity of its environment. The consequence of overshoot is called a collapse, a crash or a die-off in which there is a decline in population density.

    a) You are studying a population of aphids with an initial population size of 500. During a one-month period, you observe 40 births and 15 deaths in the population. Estimate the value of r for that month, and predict the population size in three months (from the initial population size). Remember that r is the per capita rate of population increase.
