To understand the actual difference between Esports and Sports, let us first have a look at the definitions of the two:

Sports: Competitive physical activity which uses, improves & maintains physical skills while providing entertainment.

Esports: a video game with a multiplayer option played competitively .

Both E sports & Sports are enjoyed by millions of spectators.

Esports and Sports, have their own pros and cons but the differences between them will always be there.

It is same as the difference in experience between meeting a person virtually and meeting them in reality.

Now consider any sport and compare it with an Esport version of the same. If you’re using a first person view then you’ll get “close” to what you’d see in real life.

Will you get the same experience? None of your senses or organs face the same experience .

In Team Sports, you can play Esport version of any team sport even if you are just one person. Does the sport version give you this option?

Do you get to view different angles to view your team mates while playing the sports?

Even in individual sports, the difference between the two still exists. You can’t play individual sports if no one wants to play with you whereas, In Esports version you can have artificial opponents.

While playing any sports, the skill set in picture is different from the skill set required to play Esports.

Both are widely popular sports and entertain the players and viewers, how would it sound if a person says I play sports and then refer to Esports when asked which sport do you play?

For example, In Esports version people play soccer with their hands whereas in actual Soccer is a team sport played with legs. The whole experience is different.

Esports have big advantage that even a physically impaired person who can't play sport can enjoy the beauty of playing that particular sport via esports.

Both, even though similar are different and respected respectively.

As per the definition of the two sports body recognises Esports as Esports so why confuse things by recognising esports as sports?

Moon is a satellite and can never be a planet even if one day we start living on it but moon has its own importance and should not be considered any less.

E sports should be recognized and respected as Esports by the official sporting bodies.
