Although both harmful practices have declined as a result of the efforts of Kahumbu and other conservationists, she continues to work toward a ban on the sale of carbofuran in Africa. Kahumbu began her conservation work with research on African elephants and she remains a strong advocate for their protection. She favors a global ban on all trade in ivory, increased efforts to detect smuggled ivory, and stiffer penalties for those who take part in any aspect of the ivory trade.

While people tend to domesticate wide variety of species, little care is given towards species which are at the verge of extinction. Why? Maybe it is lack of the know-how, or simply ignorance by common folks.

This article gives us an example of how one person, strong and determined to her cause, can cause a change to the lives of so many people and animals. One person with the willpower can make a pivotal impact towards making the world a better place to live in. Common people should take the example and work on their goals, and spread awareness about the real world problem, and try to provide solutions.
