Throughout the whole world there is alarming reductions of the girl child and it breaks the natural balance of male and female. Such tendency is so going to break the natural balance in society. In every society both men and women have equal roles and rights.

There are various reasons behind the reduction of the number of female. There are numerous families where the family members still bear the prejudices of male child. They can not accept girl child whole heartedly. There are many clinics where fetus detection is done secretly. If the fetus is girl then the family members spoil it. Standing on the threshold of new era such tendency is really contemptible.

Besides, the poor families are victim of dowry system. It is a brutal system thousands of women have been killed for dowry. Therefore the family members of the poor family do not want girl child as they can not pay dowry.

Besides thousands of women are raped every day and most of such cases remain secret. Today the guardians fear to let their girls go outside. Many women are victim of sex subjugation. They do not get equal advantages for higher education. They are married in the early age. They are victim of many dangerous diseases for such early marriage. They are sexually oppressed in offices, bus, train and other places. There are many bad religious superstitions that bar the development of the women.

Almost in every country many steps have been taken to stop violence against women. Domestic violence is strictly prohibited. To stop gender discrimination many awareness campaigns are organized. We must think that women are the most worthy gift of God.
